Try

Series background & context
Temptation is the beating heart of Ella Frank’s Chicagoverse, a long running MM romance series that charts the relationship between lawyer Logan Mitchell and bartender turned businessman Tate Morrison from first flirtation to deeply rooted partnership.
Logan is openly bisexual, wickedly smart, and used to getting what he wants. He co owns a successful law firm in downtown Chicago and treats sex as something to enjoy rather than attach to any big emotional stakes. Tate, on the other hand, is freshly separated from his wife and has always thought of himself as straight. He is taking shifts at an upscale bar while he rebuilds his life.
In Try, Logan walks into Tate’s bar and decides he is interested. What follows is a relentless, playful campaign of seduction. Tate resists, intrigued but wary, until an explosive confrontation tips curiosity into action. The book captures the electric mix of banter, sexual tension, and genuine confusion that comes when long held assumptions about yourself are suddenly up for debate.
Take and Trust deepen and complicate their bond. Tate has to deal with family reactions, especially from a conservative background, while Logan is pushed to be more vulnerable and to examine why he has always kept his heart off limits. Together they learn how to navigate outness at work, exes, and the ordinary frictions of sharing a life.
Later books like Tease, Tate, True, and the holiday novella Shiver move beyond the initial coming out arc into the quieter, but no less compelling, territory of long term love. We see them argue about schedules and jealousy, support friends through their own dramas, and build a home and family that stretches well beyond blood ties.
Temptation is unabashedly steamy, with detailed intimate scenes that trace the evolution of their dynamic over time. But it is also deeply character driven. Both men are allowed to be flawed, stubborn, and occasionally wrong, and the joy of the series lies in watching them grow individually and together.
Because so many later series spin directly out of Temptation, meeting Logan and Tate first gives extra depth to the rest of the Chicagoverse. They show up often in other couples’ stories, not as perfect mentors but as friends who have already done a lot of the hard work and are still choosing each other every day.
