Taste of Sin Books in Order

This trilogy, listed elsewhere as the Thornton's books, leans into the side of Connie Mason that likes danger, disguises, and messy romantic entanglements. The stories are historical romances, but they are not gentle ones. They mix clan politics, secret loyalties, crown business, and people who get married under the worst possible circumstances.

The mood is intense from the start.

A Taste of Sin opens with Lady Christy determined to claim the wedding night she has long been denied, only to find herself up against a husband who is more dangerous and more complicated than she expected. That first book sets the tone for the series, passionate, stubborn, and full of emotional brinkmanship. A Breath of Scandal follows Lord Julian Thornton, who is an earl by day and an agent of the crown by necessity. A bad mission leaves him in the hands of Lara, a half-gypsy heiress on the Scottish coast, and a marriage meant for protection turns into something far riskier. In A Touch So Wicked, Damian Stratton arrives in the Highlands to stop a politically dangerous wedding and winds up marrying the very woman he tried to control.

The connective tissue is a network of families, allies, and English and Scottish ties, rather than one long cliffhanger. These books stand alone as romances, but together they build a world where personal desire is always tangled up with property, duty, inheritance, or royal power. No one gets a simple courtship.

That is part of the fun. Mason fills the trilogy with headstrong women, proud men, and situations that go from inconvenient to explosive in a hurry. Coastlines, castles, clan rivalries, and hidden identities all matter. So does the emotional balance. The heroes are forceful, but the heroines push back, make plans, and refuse to vanish into somebody else's story.
