Series background & context

The Supernatural Singles series is a paranormal romantic comedy set in a version of New York City where witches, shifters, demons, angels, and other magical beings are part of everyday life. The tone is playful and sexy, but the characters are also dealing with work, family baggage, old hurts, and the awkward business of falling for the wrong person at exactly the wrong time.

At the center of the first three books are the Maxwell triplets: Violet, Rose, and Olive. Their grandmother, Edie, is a major figure in the supernatural community, and expectations around magic and leadership have shaped each sister differently. The books give each woman her own romance while keeping the sisters, their friends, and their shared history close by.

Not the Witch You Wed begins with Violet, a witch whose magic has not appeared, and Lincoln Thorne, the wolf-shifter alpha who broke her teenage heart. Old supernatural mating rules put them under pressure to find partners, so they make a fake-dating plan. Their arrangement gets complicated when Violet's magic finally begins to surface and neither of them can ignore what they once meant to each other.

In Not Your Ex's Hexes, Rose is trying to build a life beyond the role she spent years training for on the Supernatural Council. Her no-strings connection with Damian Adams, a half-demon veterinarian, becomes harder to keep casual when she is assigned community service at his animal sanctuary. Rose also starts looking for a purpose of her own, while Damian carries the dangerous effects of a curse from his past.

Not Your Crush's Cauldron follows Olive, the careful, bookish sister who teaches Supernatural Studies and usually leaves impulsive behavior to everyone else. A personal challenge pushes her outside that safe routine and into a new living arrangement with her longtime crush, Baxter Donovan. Bax is a guardian angel with disciplinary trouble of his own, and his assignment to keep Olive safe becomes difficult once she starts taking risks on purpose.

These are relationship-forward books with magical mishaps, close sisterhood, and plenty of banter. Read them in order for the full Maxwell family arc, especially because each couple remains part of the next sister's story.
