Strange Books in Order

Growing up in northwest London, Stella gradually realizes that her perceptions and telepathic abilities differ from everyone else's. Her protective family cannot prevent her from becoming involved in a dangerous situation involving medical experimentation and unexpected demands on her powers.

As the sixties give way to the seventies, Stella wants an ordinary working life despite her extraordinary abilities. Telepathy, strong opinions, and an inability to leave other people's troubles alone repeatedly draw her into uncomfortable and dangerous situations.

Telepathic Stella is married, expecting a baby, and running a successful business, so avoiding danger has become a priority. She hopes to settle a few remaining problems and leave risky adventures behind, but her unusual abilities still complicate life.
