Stories of Frost and Fire takes the Trailerverse into its next generation through Wynonna Riggs, better known as Winnie, the Phoenix. She is the daughter of Grace Ann Bryant from Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen, but this is not just a hand-me-down series. It gives Winnie her own city, her own allies, and her own problems from the start.

And her problems are not small.

The main setting is Steelshore, a bay city where fairy trafficking, faction conflict, and supernatural politics all collide. Winnie goes there trying to do a job and understand more about who she is, only to find herself caught between public danger and private grief. Her missing brother, her family's history, and the strange pull of her own powers all feed into the larger arc.

One of the pleasures of this series is watching the world widen. The books move from investigation and city tension into larger questions involving the Book of Shadows, rival magic, the Wild realm, dark counterparts, and the kind of realm-spanning conflict that no one can solve alone. Winnie is also a different kind of lead from Grace. She is younger, more restless, and more openly in the middle of figuring herself out.
