Stellar Conquest takes the long history of Plague Wars into the future. About a century after the earlier stories, humanity has reached the stars, but expansion has not brought safety. EarthFleet faces a hostile alien empire whose living ships spread from system to system.

Earth needs room to survive.

The first book, First Conquest, sends Task Force Conquest on a one-way mission to seize an alien star system. It is a risky plan built around military necessity rather than exploration. The people sent to carry it out know they may not get a return trip, but Earth cannot keep waiting for the enemy to choose the next battlefield.

The series follows several military figures, including Jill "Reaper" Repeth, Joseph "Bull" ben Tauros, Admiral Henrich Absen, and Vincent Markis. They are part of a larger EarthFleet effort that combines warships, marines, intelligence work, and whatever new technology can be captured or understood before the next attack arrives.

The enemy is not waiting politely.

In Desolator, the discovery of an enormous alien vessel offers both danger and a possible advantage. Tactics of Conquest and Conquest of Earth continue the fight as military victories create new strategic problems. By Conquest and Empire, EarthFleet is facing the insectoid Scourge while internal politics and hidden agendas make survival even harder.

This is military science fiction with a clear campaign structure. Missions matter, but the books also track the bigger logistical question: how does a young interstellar power hold territory, protect its people, and keep fighting an enemy with more worlds and more resources? The setting has room for fleet combat and marines on the ground, but it also cares about command decisions and the costs of escalation.

Readers do not need to finish every earlier Plague Wars book before starting, though the shared history gives some characters extra context. The core story is built to work as its own five-book military space-opera arc.

Start with First Conquest, also published as Starship Conquest, and continue in order. It sets up the mission, the enemy, and the central question that drives the series: whether humanity can seize a future before the galaxy closes in around it.
