Pax Solis Books in Order

Pax Solis begins in the Solar System, where humanity has started spreading beyond Earth but is still far from secure. The series, co-written by David VanDyke and B. V. Larson, follows Lieutenant Alex "Flex" Callahan, a fighter pilot serving aboard the carrier ECS Vanguard.

Flex sees the danger before most people do.

In Titan War, mysterious probes near Luna signal that human activity has awakened something ancient. The threat quickly becomes an invasion, with hostile forces striking human colonies from Europa to Mars. Flex and the Vanguard's pilots are thrown into a fight against an enemy with better technology and a clear interest in reclaiming Earth.

The books keep the viewpoint close to the people doing the flying and fighting. Flex is not watching events from a distant command center. He is in a Firebird fighter, dealing with fast decisions, limited information, and the knowledge that a single mistake can cost a ship or a colony. That gives the series a strong military-action core even as the setting grows larger.

The enemy becomes stranger as the war expands.

Venus War brings a new menace called the Cure, one that turns refugee ships and their crews into something horrifying. In Neptune War, signals from the outer Solar System lead the Vanguard toward the Blight, an alien force that believes humanity is connected to an ancient enemy. Along the way, Flex must confront questions about hyperspace routes, alien history, and who is really pulling the strings.

The tone is direct first-contact military science fiction. There are carrier operations, fighter battles, desperate defenses, and colonies caught in the line of fire. But the wider plot is also about a new Terran Empire trying to understand the galaxy it has entered. Nearby worlds are not empty, and every discovery comes with a risk.

The published sequence starts with Titan War, followed by Venus War and Neptune War. Later installments continue the expanding conflict beyond the familiar planets. Start with Titan War for the first warning, the first attack, and Flex's introduction to a war humanity never expected.
