Starborn Books in Order

Starborn opens with a wonderfully unsettling idea. Aldric Vale, a freelancer from the Interstellar Concord, follows a signal to what should be a dead or forgotten system and instead finds Earth, crowded, hidden, and quietly ruled by immortal elites who have kept the planet cut off from the larger human civilization around it.

That discovery makes the series work on two levels at once. On one level it is a fast conspiracy thriller, with Aldric stranded, hunted, and trying to expose people who would rather erase him. On the other, it is a story about hidden history, stolen inheritance, and what it means for billions of people to learn that their whole place in the universe has been managed from above.

Lena Hart is a big part of why it lands.

Her journalist perspective keeps the Earth side grounded while Aldric brings in the larger galactic picture. Across The Lost Colony of Earth, Lines of Succession, and Concord, the books open outward from one buried secret into a fight over gates, bloodlines, memory, and Earth's right to rejoin the wider human world.

Readers who like conspiracy-laced space adventure should have fun here. It is one of Scott's newer series, and it shows him mixing hidden-empires plotting with the faster, more personal survival pressure that has always been one of his strengths.
