Series background & context

The Somehow Everlasting duet is one of Claudia Burgoa’s most intensely emotional Decker family stories. It charts the rise, fall, and possible rebirth of first love between rockstar Jacob Decker and the woman who knew him before the world did.

In Almost Strangers they meet as college freshmen, two awkward bookworms who become each other’s first everything. Their brief, bright semester together ends when life pulls them apart, leaving Jacob on a path to fame and Pria struggling to keep her world from collapsing.

Years later, he is a notorious musician and she is barely keeping her head above water when fate throws them back together.

Strangers in Love picks up that second chance and asks whether love can survive addiction, bad coping mechanisms, and the pressures of celebrity. Pria is hired to repair Jacob’s public image, only to find herself face to face with the boy she once loved and the man he has become.

Through both books Burgoa digs into themes of sobriety, self-worth, and the way first love can both save and wound you. The wider Decker clan appears around the edges, but the focus stays tightly on Jacob and Pria’s messy, aching journey.

Readers who like angsty musician romances, slow healing, and a hard-won happy ending will find this duet especially satisfying.
