Series background & context

Ann Aguirre wrote the Skin series under the name Ava Gray. These books blend paranormal abilities with romantic suspense, following characters whose gifts make them useful, vulnerable, and often hunted.

The series opens with Skin Game, centered on Kyra, whose dangerous touch has taught her to keep people away. When she becomes entangled with Reyes and a threat that will not leave her alone, distance stops being a safe solution.

Danger keeps getting personal.

The later novels introduce more people living with unusual powers and more of the forces trying to exploit them. The romances change from book to book, but the central conflict carries on through the series. Characters have to decide whom they can trust while dealing with secrets, pursuit, and abilities that can hurt the very people they want to protect.

Read Skin Game, Skin Tight, Skin Heat, and Skin Dive in order. The books are connected paranormal suspense stories with intense attraction, action, and a continuing threat behind the individual couples' plots.
