Series background & context

Scorned by Blood is one of the darker corners of Heather Renee's connected paranormal world. At its center is a young hunter bent on avenging her family, and Maciah West, the vampire who crashes into her life just as the past starts catching up with her.

What makes this trilogy fun is the push and pull between revenge and revelation. The heroine has spent years defining herself by the monsters she wants dead, so learning that vampires are tied to her own future hits hard. Maciah is protective, but he is not a simple rescue figure. He is part guide, part problem, and part proof that her old view of the world is too small.

The books keep a strong romantic thread, but they also lean into bloodlines, buried history, and the question of what happens when becoming something new feels like betrayal. The more the story opens up, the more the heroine has to rethink what strength really means, and whether vengeance is enough to build a life on.

It gets messy.

If you want a paranormal romance with vampire politics, a heroine who starts from anger, and a central couple that has to fight for trust as much as love, Scorned by Blood delivers exactly that kind of energy.
