Series background & context
Savage Wells is Eden’s take on the classic Western town, a place full of oddball side characters, stubborn lawmen, and women who refuse to stay in the roles others assign them. Set in Wyoming Territory, the series mixes frontier humor with deeper questions about justice, trauma, and what it means to belong.
In The Sheriffs of Savage Wells, the town council decides it needs a real sheriff to replace the man who left for Oregon, even though local woman Paisley Bell has been doing the job in all but name. Paisley, who is juggling her unofficial law work with caring for her ailing father, throws her hat into the ring anyway. Her chief rival is Cade O’Brien, a legendary lawman known for cleaning up rough towns. Their rivalry quickly becomes the heart of the story as professional competition, mutual respect, and a slow building attraction collide just as outlaws set their sights on Savage Wells.
Healing Hearts returns to the same community but focuses on Dr. Gideon MacNamara, who has just discovered that his planned mail order bride wanted nothing to do with the arrangement. The woman who arrives in town, Miriam, is on the run from a past that includes wrongful confinement in an asylum. Their partnership in Gideon’s busy practice pulls them into the quiet crises of their neighbors and into a romance that must face down stigma surrounding mental health.
Later, Wyoming Wild widens the lens to the surrounding territory. A U.S. marshal known as Hawk goes undercover to investigate a corrupt sheriff whose own daughter, Liesl, is secretly working against him. The danger that builds around them lets familiar faces from Savage Wells step back into view while introducing new characters whose loyalty and courage are tested.
Across the series, the town functions almost like an extended character. Eccentric shopkeepers, opinionated council members, and fierce friendships give the books a warm, lived in feel. Readers who like their Westerns with gentle romance, strong community, and a focus on emotional healing rather than heavy grit will feel right at home in Savage Wells.
