Series background & context

Sapphire Falls is one of Erin Nicholas's best-known worlds for a reason. It is a quirky little Midwestern town full of regulars, running jokes, sweet shops, hardware stores, family baggage, and the kind of local festivals that practically guarantee romance and mild disaster.

The books are contemporary rom-coms, but the town gives them extra texture. Returning locals, newcomers, old crushes, and long-simmering feuds all get room to matter. Getting Out of Hand is the obvious place to start, and from there the series keeps widening into one connected community. If you like fictional towns that feel lived in, with secondary characters who keep showing up and making trouble, Sapphire Falls is a great fit. It is cozy without being cutesy, and funny without losing the emotional pull. A lot of Erin Nicholas series spin out from here in one way or another, so it is also a smart starting place if you want the bigger picture.
