Series background & context

The RPD books bring the second-generation Rojo cast into the local police department, following officers, detectives, and other staff as they try to protect the town their parents helped shape. Because these characters grew up inside the larger Rojo network, the workplace angle never feels cut off from the family one.

That is part of the series' charm. You get some procedural texture, patrol work, investigations, old cases, and public responsibility, but the stories are still centered on relationships, home life, and the pressure of being known in a town where everybody remembers your parents. Some leads come from familiar Rojo families, while others are newcomers stepping into that world and finding out just how tightly connected it is.

Protecting Rojo means living in it, too.

These books are a good fit if you like contemporary romance with law-enforcement leads but do not want the job to swallow the emotional story. The police work raises the stakes, but the real payoff comes from watching the next generation serve the town and build lives inside it.
