Emerald

by Cee Bowerman

2023

Emerald Hamilton looks like she has it all, but old fears still run deep. When an injury forces this fiercely independent woman to accept help, she has to decide whether healing can make room for love too.

2

Amethyst

by Cee Bowerman

2024

Amethyst finally has the career she worked for and a family who adores her, but she still feels the pull toward something more. A chance meeting at a wedding brings romance and old trouble into the same room.

Series background & context

The Rojo Gems books follow Emerald, Amethyst, and their sister circle as the little girls readers once worried over grow into capable women. Their history matters a lot. These are characters who were protected, cherished, and helped into safety by the wider Rojo community, and now they are old enough to claim lives of their own.

That makes the series feel tender without being fragile. The Gems are strong, but strength here does not mean they never need help. It means they know how to keep going, how to lean on family when necessary, and how to let themselves want more than survival. Romance comes with the usual Bowerman mix of family involvement, emotional baggage, and a sense that love is not separate from the rest of life.

This is very much a growth series.

Readers who like second-generation stories often want that extra emotional layer, the feeling of having watched a character's whole life bend toward this point. The Rojo Gems books deliver exactly that, while keeping Rojo's big, overlapping network of relatives and family friends close at hand.
