Promised To The Pucks takes a bookish, slightly bewildered heroine and drops her into a fae bargain she absolutely did not mean to make. The setup feels almost mischievous at first. Meghan is working a dead-end job, reading romance on her breaks, and expecting ordinary disappointment, not a night with impossibly beautiful men who turn out to be tied to old debts, old magic, and a world far bigger than she knew existed.

Then the contract lands.

That is the series hook. The Puck brothers, part goblin, part fae aristocratic menace, claim Meghan as payment on her uncle's debt, and she is pulled into their world under the promise that if she can keep hold of her heart, she can walk away. Naturally, the books are very interested in whether that is even possible. Meghan knows enough romance tropes to recognize the danger, which gives the story a nice self-aware edge without undercutting the sincerity.

Once she crosses over, the setting widens into a more traditional fae-adjacent fantasy landscape full of strange courts, rituals, rival powers, and memories that suggest Meghan's connection to this world is not as random as it first seemed. That is what gives the duology more shape than a simple debt-and-desire romance. The men want her, but the world wants something from her too.

So this series is a good fit if you like fae romance with a modern, genre-savvy heroine at the center of it. There is seduction, certainly, but also the steady tug of destiny, hidden power, and the nagging possibility that the life Meghan thought was hers was only ever the shallow end of the story.
