Series background & context

Co-written with Rebecca Brooke, this series leans into the eerie folklore of the New Jersey Pine Barrens and builds its central tension around a werewolf curse that has shaped a pack for decades. The woods are not just scenery here. They feel old, watchful, and a little dangerous before the romance even begins.

The curse drives everything.

Cursed Vengeance introduces Sierra and Dylan, along with the brutal truth that the pack's men are living under a countdown unless someone can break what was done long ago. Sierra's reluctance to believe any of it gives the book a good entry point, because the world opens through fear, disbelief, and reluctant fascination.

Vengeance Unraveled picks up after the curse is broken, but freedom does not mean peace. Sean and Ashley are dealing with family scheming, hidden truths, and the rising sense that old evil was never fully put to rest. The books use romance to humanize the danger, but the danger never drifts far away.

This is a tighter arc than Rivers's longer running series.

Because there are only two books, the story stays focused on the curse, the pack, and the fallout around them. You still get mates, loyalty, family pressure, and supernatural intrigue, but the plot keeps pulling toward the same central wound.

If you like paranormal romance with a darker edge, strong curse lore, and a setting steeped in local legend, Pine Barrens Wolves is worth your time.
