Series background & context

Beth Kery's One Night of Passion books work best as connected standalones. The titles share tone and some ties between characters, but each romance has its own emotional shape. What links them is the Kery blend, strong attraction from page one, people carrying old pain, and enough danger or pressure around the edges to keep the stories moving.

The series starts with Addicted to You, where Irish film director Rill Pierce retreats to a remote town after a devastating loss and finds Katie Hughes refusing to let him disappear into self destruction. From there, Kery shifts into shorter companion pieces like Bound to You and Captured by You, then into Exposed to You, where guarded art teacher Joy Hightower crosses paths with movie star Everett Hughes. Only for You brings in Seth Hightower and actress Gia Harris, adding witness protection style danger and a second chance edge.

So the books travel.

You get backwoods isolation, Hollywood sets, hidden identities, fame, grief, obsession, and a lot of emotional risk. Even when the stories are extremely sexy, Kery keeps grounding them in something unsettled. Her characters are not just chasing pleasure. They are also trying to outrun fear, regret, public scrutiny, family pressure, or the memory of some past hurt that still has teeth.

That variety makes the series easy to dip into. Some readers will like the smaller, high-heat novellas. Others will want the fuller emotional sweep of the longer novels. Either way, the romances tend to focus on people who have reasons to hold back, and then discover that the person tempting them is also the person asking them to be more honest than they planned.

If you want Beth Kery in a looser series format, One Night of Passion is a good choice. Read in order if you want the cleanest path through the shared connections, but expect each book to stand on its own, with its own couple, its own conflict, and its own flavor of trouble.
