Series background & context

Omertà Law is a two book mafia romance series that trades roaring bikes for sleek cars and concrete high rises, but keeps the same blend of danger and raw emotion that runs through the rest of M.N. Forgy's work. The stories follow one powerful crime family as its sons and enemies are bound together by arranged marriages, vendettas, and the unspoken code of silence that gives the series its name.

In Beautiful Criminal, we meet a heir who has been shaped into the family's blunt instrument. The world sees him as a soulless monster, and he does little to argue. When his father orders him to marry a rival's daughter to settle an old score, the bride bolts rather than be handed over like a business asset. Hunting her down becomes both duty and obsession. Their forced proximity turns into a warped intimacy as she tests his limits, bargains for her freedom, and discovers the man under the reputation.

Beautiful Thief shifts the focus to Romeo, a reluctant underboss shoved into power after his brother's betrayal. To test his loyalty, his controlling father hands him a stolen woman and expects him to treat her like property. Romeo is disturbed by the game but captivated by his captive, a woman who tries to shoot him with his own gun on their first night. The more she fights, the more he starts to see how much leverage he actually has, not just over her, but over the entire empire he is supposed to inherit.

Across both novels, women are used as bargaining chips in bloody feuds, yet Forgy lets them claw back pieces of control in sharp, sometimes ruthless ways. The men, raised on threats and violence, are forced to question whether obedience to the old rules is worth the cost. The setting moves between shadowy clubs, lavish estates, and backroom meetings, with the law staying comfortably distant while mob politics decide who lives, who dies, and who gets to walk away.

Omertà Law sits squarely in dark romance territory, with kidnappings, arranged marriages, and morally grey choices on nearly every page. At the same time, the through line is familiar for Forgy fans, two people who should probably never trust each other trying to build something real in a world that keeps teaching them survival means staying alone.
