Of Food and Other Demons Books in Order

This is Cara Wylde in a playful, chaotic mood. Of Food and Other Demons takes a very silly premise and commits to it completely: a woman tries to cook from an old family recipe, gets the dish wrong, and accidentally summons a demon instead of dinner.

That is not a one-time problem.

The books are linked by recipes, family secrets, witchy bloodlines, and demon heroes who arrive irritated, powerful, and far more attractive than seems reasonable. On the human side, the heroines are not polished occult experts. They are women trying to get through a normal day, impress friends, eat something comforting, or survive work and family stress. Then a horned stranger appears in the kitchen and informs them that they are, inconveniently, witches.

What follows is part paranormal rom-com, part magical family mystery. Each book stands alone, but the emotional shape is familiar in the best way. First comes disbelief. Then panic. Then the slow realization that the grandmother's cookbook was not really a cookbook, that Hell has rules, and that the demon currently wrecking the domestic peace may also be the one person capable of helping sort out a much bigger mess.

The tone matters here. These stories are sexy, but they are also knowingly funny. The titles tell you that right away, and the books follow through with kitchen disasters, banter, magical mishaps, and heroines who are in over their heads but still keep going.

Underneath the jokes, though, there is a warm series idea. These are stories about hidden inheritance, strange desire, and women learning that what looked like ordinary family baggage was actually power. If you want short, easy paranormal reads with demons, spells, and a lot of accidental flirting, this series has a very clear lane and stays in it.
