The Nether Kitten ebooks are the original version of Eeebs’s story, released digitally before his adventures were reworked into the printed Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten novels. They follow the same curious kitten as he’s pulled from a quiet Overworld village into the dangerous, lava-lit Nether.
The first collection, Minecraft: Nether Kitten: Book 1, 2 and 3, covers Eeebs’s earliest missteps. After ignoring his mother’s warnings about the forest, he gets chased by wolves and flees through a strange portal. On the other side he finds a world of fire, fortresses, ghasts, and wither skeletons. With the help of Clyde the ghast and the witch Eldra, he discovers that the Nether itself has gifted him strange new abilities and a place in a prophecy about a coming war.
Across these short installments, Eeebs learns the basics of surviving in a place where lava lakes replace rivers and almost everything wants to kill you. He experiments with his Nether-given powers, makes uneasy allies, and hears whispers of EnderStar, a rogue enderman whose plans threaten both the Nether and the Overworld.
Minecraft: Nether Kitten: Book 4 and 5 deepens the world. Eeebs travels farther, discovers hidden communities of peaceful mobs, and begins more formal training. The prophecy starts to feel less like a story and more like a job description as he realizes he isn’t the only “Nether kitten” destined to fight.
By Nether Kitten 6, the scale has grown beyond a single lost cat. Eeebs has a clearer sense of his role, the stakes for Minecraftia, and the way his path will eventually intersect with Runt’s and the broader conflict against dark forces like the Eyeless One.
