Each book follows a different couple, and each one can be read on its own. What links them is the mood. They are playful, fast, and built around people who start out thinking they can manage a complicated situation without actually catching feelings. That confidence rarely lasts long. My (Mostly) Secret Baby opens with a past connection that refuses to stay in the past, My (Mostly) Fake Wedding turns a supposedly controlled arrangement into a real romantic problem, and My (Mostly) Temporary Nanny mixes a guarded single father with a woman his child instantly trusts.

Bloom clearly enjoys traps that look temporary.

A fake arrangement. A short-term job. A deal that should stay physical. A reunion that should stay practical. The fun of the series comes from watching those neat categories collapse. The heroes are often gruff, demanding, or emotionally armoured. The heroines are usually quicker on their feet and better at pretending they are not affected. When those two energies meet, the books get their bounce.

There is also more family texture here than in some of Bloom's earlier office rom-coms. Kids, caretaking, and questions about what a stable future might look like are part of the emotional structure, especially in the first and third books. That gives the series a slightly softer center, even when the banter is sharp and the chemistry is immediate. These characters are not just asking who they want. They are asking what kind of life they can actually build.

The connected-world element is light but useful. Familiar faces pop in, the humor stays consistent, and each book feels like it belongs beside the others without requiring a big commitment from the reader. That makes the series a good place to start if you want Bloom's funnier side but prefer setups with a little more domestic warmth underneath the chaos.

Mostly funny, yes. But also sweet, messy, and surprisingly earnest when it counts.
