Series background & context

Motor City Royals is set in Detroit, and the city does real work in these books. This is not just billionaire romance dropped into a random urban backdrop. Detroit's grit, class tension, underworld connections, and hard-won survival are all part of what gives the series its shape.

The linked books follow characters whose money or family history has roots in crime, and that past never stays tidily in the past. Underground fighting, street reputation, corporate ambition, and danger sit right next to the romance. So the couples are not just dealing with whether they fit emotionally. They are also dealing with what kind of life they want.

Dirty for Me, Wrong for Me, and Sin for Me each take a different couple through that pressure. Mechanics, executives, men trying to go straight, and women who are not fooled by a hard exterior all show up in the mix.

If you want Jackie Ashenden at her grittier and more urban, with romance that feels physically charged and a little dangerous from the start, Motor City Royals is a strong series choice.
