Where should I start?
If you want her core alien-warrior saga: Grim → Wray → Ynyr → Oryon.
If you like political and royal sci fi romance: Cassandra's Challenge → Victoria's Challenge → Jacinda's Challenge → Stephanie's Challenge.
If dragon shifters appeal most: Kirall's Kiss → Autumn's Kiss → Supreme's Kiss.
If you prefer Kaliszian warriors and redemption arcs: Nikhil → Treyvon.
If you want a steamy standalone on a star base: Her Commanders.
Author bio
M.K. Eidem writes science fiction and fantasy romance full of alien empires, found families, and very human relationships. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family, three cats, and a rotating cast of other animals.
Growing up, she was the kid who always had a book hidden somewhere. She has talked about sneaking novels off her sisters' shelves, reading them in secret, then quietly sliding them back before anyone noticed. Stories were a kind of contraband, and she loved every minute of it.
As a reader, she was never quite done with a story when the last page ended. She would imagine alternate scenes and new endings, or wonder what might happen if a character made a different choice. That habit of asking 'what if' slowly turned into sketching out her own worlds and romances.
She started crafting stories when she was young and kept at it through work and family life, but the real shift came after her two children were grown and out of the house. With a quieter home and a little more time, she finally sat down to write the novels that had been living in her head for years. Those early drafts grew into the interconnected universes readers now know from the Tornians, Kaliszians, Imperial, Kiss, and Cyborg Redemption books.
In the Tornian and Kaliszian stories, beginning with titles like Grim, Wray, Nikhil, and Treyvon, she plays with big scale stakes. Alien warriors face a collapsing society, human women are pulled into their orbit, and survival depends as much on communication and compromise as it does on strength. Fans come for the towering heroes and intense action and stay for the everyday moments, like sharing food, raising children, and building a new kind of home.
Her Imperial or Challenge novels, including Cassandra's Challenge, Victoria's Challenge, Jacinda's Challenge, and Stephanie's Challenge, shift the spotlight toward royal politics and military duty. These books follow admirals, kings, guards, and brilliant human women as they navigate grief, loyalty, and second chances. The settings range from warships and palaces to medical centers and training yards, but at the heart it is always about two people learning how to trust each other.
With the Kiss series, starting with Kirall's Kiss and Autumn's Kiss, she leans into dragon shifters, ancient bloodlines, and the tension between tradition and change. Other stories, such as Her Commanders and the Cyborg Redemption novels, push into different corners of the same wide universe, bringing in long lived species, cybernetic soldiers, and complicated, multi partner relationships.
Readers often mention how grounded her characters feel. Even when a hero is a king, a general, or a dragon shifter, they still worry about family, carry old wounds, and fumble their way through conversations. Her heroines may be scared or outmatched at first, yet they ask sharp questions, set boundaries, and insist on being equal partners.
When she is not at her desk, she enjoys long walks in the forests and mountains near her home, reading widely across genres, and spending time with her family and animals. The quiet of those days tends to feed the next round of 'what if' questions, which usually turn into another book.
Today she is a USA Today bestselling author with readers around the world, but she still talks to them like friends. Whether it is through a newsletter note, a signing line, or a brief conversation online, she likes hearing which characters people connected with most and what parts of her galaxies they hope to visit again.
