Liberty and Tyranny
by Mark R Levin
2004
Liberty and Tyranny lays out Levin's argument for constitutional conservatism, contrasting a limited, founding-era vision of government with what he calls the modern statist state on taxation, entitlements, courts, immigration, and more, and urging a return to first principles.
Men in Black
by Mark R Levin
2005
Men in Black argues that activist justices on the Supreme Court have strayed from the Constitution's original meaning, using landmark decisions on issues from religion to abortion and immigration to show how a handful of unelected judges can reshape national policy.
Rescuing Sprite
by Mark R Levin
2007
Rescuing Sprite is Levin's memoir of the rescue dog who joined his family, bonded with their first dog Pepsi, and then faced serious illness, a story about everyday joy, hard medical choices, and the grief that comes with loving an aging pet.
Ameritopia
by Mark R Levin
2012
Ameritopia explores the pull of utopian political visions, tracing ideas from thinkers like Plato, More, Hobbes, and Marx, then setting them against the American founding to argue that expanding centralized control threatens individual liberty and the republic's survival.
The Liberty Amendments
by Mark R Levin
2013
The Liberty Amendments outlines Levin's proposal for a convention of the states to add new amendments to the Constitution, including term limits, stricter spending rules, and tools for states to check federal power, all intended to restore what he sees as lost balance.
Plunder and Deceit
by Mark R Levin
2015
Plunder and Deceit contends that massive debt, entitlement promises, weak borders, and other policies amount to the state exploiting younger Americans, urging both parents and the rising generation to confront unsustainable government growth before it locks in a poorer future.
Rediscovering Americanism
by Mark R Levin
2017
Rediscovering Americanism returns to the writings of the Founders and early thinkers, contrasting their emphasis on natural rights and limited government with the growth of progressivism, and arguing that recovering those first principles is essential to reversing today's centralizing trends.
Unfreedom of the Press
by Mark R Levin
2019
Unfreedom of the Press surveys the history of American journalism, then criticizes today's major news organizations as partisan and activist, arguing that bias, groupthink, and selective coverage are undermining the watchdog role a free press is supposed to play.
American Marxism
by Mark R Levin
2021
American Marxism argues that key elements of Marxist thought have seeped into American life under labels like progressivism or social justice, examining movements in education, media, and activism and offering suggestions for citizens who want to push back.
The Democrat Party Hates America
by Mark R Levin
2023
The Democrat Party Hates America extends Levin's critique to the modern Democratic Party, arguing that its history and current agenda attack America's founding ideals, entrench one-party power, and advance what he sees as a Marxist inspired transformation of the country.
On Power
by Mark R Levin
2025
On Power takes a more philosophical look at how power has been used across history, comparing oppressive regimes with constitutional systems that rely on consent, and reflecting on what that tension means for individual liberty and the future of the American experiment.

Author bio
Mark R. Levin is an American lawyer, talk radio host, television commentator, and bestselling author whose work centers on the Constitution, limited government, and modern conservative politics. Born in Philadelphia in 1957, he grew up in nearby Pennsylvania suburbs in a Jewish family that talked often about history and current events.
As a teenager he moved quickly through school, graduating from Cheltenham High School after three years. He skipped his senior year to attend Temple University Ambler, earning a political science degree magna cum laude at nineteen and soon winning a seat on the Cheltenham school board on a promise to rein in property taxes.
Politics moved from something he studied to something he practiced very early in his adult life.
After completing his law degree at Temple University School of Law, Levin joined the Reagan administration in Washington. Over the next several years he worked in the federal volunteer agency ACTION, in senior roles at the Departments of Education and the Interior, and finally as chief of staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese, experiences that deepened his focus on how federal power and the courts affect everyday liberty.
Leaving government, he divided his time between private practice and public interest work. He joined Landmark Legal Foundation in the early 1990s, concentrating on constitutional litigation and oversight of large public sector unions, and eventually served for many years as the foundation's president before stepping back into a chairman emeritus role.
Many people first encountered him through the radio instead of the courtroom. After years as a legal analyst and frequent guest on national conservative programs, he launched a Sunday show on New York's WABC in 2002, then took over the coveted early evening weekday slot the next year, where his audience quickly grew.
The Mark Levin Show entered national syndication in 2006 and expanded into a three hour program carried on hundreds of stations, satellite radio, and digital platforms. His mix of constitutional history, sharp humor, and combative exchanges with callers built a devoted following and led fellow hosts to call him 'The Great One'.
Levin later added television and streaming to his schedule. He hosts the weekend program Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News, known for long form interviews about history, law, and current events, and he created the subscription based LevinTV, which became part of a broader conservative media network.
Writing has been a parallel track from the start. Books such as Men in Black, Liberty and Tyranny, Ameritopia, The Liberty Amendments, Plunder and Deceit, Rediscovering Americanism, Unfreedom of the Press, American Marxism, The Democrat Party Hates America, and On Power press his case against what he sees as an expanding administrative state and a drift toward collectivism, while Rescuing Sprite offers a quieter, personal story about his family's rescue dog and the grief and gratitude that come with losing a pet.
He now broadcasts from Virginia, where he lives with his family and dogs, and continues to use his platforms and books to argue that the Constitution and the principles of the American founding should remain at the center of public life.
