Series background & context

Maple Falls is Kathleen Fuller's contemporary small-town romance corner, and it feels a little different from her Amish fiction right away. The setting is modern Arkansas, the tone is lighter and more openly comic, and the town runs on yarn stores, diners, libraries, cafes, mechanics, and a lot of neighbors who know more than they should.

The books are connected but easy to read one at a time. Hooked on You brings Riley home to help at her grandmother's yarn shop. Much Ado About a Latte turns a crush and a coffee-business dream into small-town friction. Sold on Love pairs a polished realtor with a laid-back mechanic. Two to Tango leans into matchmaking and social chemistry. Across the series, Fuller keeps returning to people who are competent on the surface but a little uneasy underneath.

Maple Falls is built for community.

That is the heart of the series. These books are contemporary romances, but they still share Fuller's love of everyday networks. Friends overlap. Families meddle. Jobs matter. Public events and local gossip keep pushing the characters back into one another's orbit.

Compared with the Amish books, the tone is breezier and more openly bantering, but the emotional concerns are familiar, second chances, fear of vulnerability, and learning that being needed is not the same thing as being known. Fuller does not suddenly become a different writer here. She just swaps out the setting and lets herself play a little more.

If you want clean, cozy, character-driven romance with a true small-town feel, Maple Falls is one of her easiest recommendations.
