The Love Unleashed books are Dana Mentink in warm, funny, dog-loving mode. These stories are built around romance first, but the animals matter. In fact, most of the biggest plot turns happen because one determined dog decides life would be better if two humans stopped being difficult.

Each book pairs a somewhat frazzled heroine with a man who is not as prepared for emotional honesty as he thinks he is. Sit, Stay, Love gives a baseball pitcher an elderly dog and a dog sitter who sees straight through him. Fetching Sweetness turns a runaway dog into the start of an unexpected adventure. Paws for Love adds a mischievous terrier and a shy heroine to the mix.

These books are lighter than Mentink’s suspense, but they still have her usual interest in healing, family strain, and faith. If you want comfort reading with personality, pets, and a little romantic comedy energy, this is a very easy series to like.
