Author bio
Lindzee Armstrong writes clean contemporary romance, romantic comedy, romantic suspense, and women's fiction. Her stories lean into the messy parts that come before a happy ending: old heartbreaks, family pressure, uncertain futures, and the nerve it takes to trust someone again.
She has written more than twenty-five romances and has been a USA Today bestseller. Her work has also earned a RONE Award, and she has been a Whitney Award finalist twice.
Armstrong studied history education and earned a bachelor's degree. That interest in the past pops up in different ways in her fiction, from European travel and historical sites in Kiss Me in the Moonlight to the time-slip setup of Marrying the King.
Her books move comfortably between light, banter-filled romance and more emotional stories about grief, infertility, adoption, and starting over. Miss Match launches her long-running No Match for Love world, where the staff and clients of the Toujour matchmaking company discover that finding love for other people is much easier than handling their own hearts. The books make room for billionaires, football players, wedding planners, teachers, and plenty of inconvenient crushes.
She also writes smaller, more intimate stories. Chasing Someday follows three women facing infertility, while Tomorrow's Lullaby centers on adoption, music, and the hard questions that follow a young woman's past decision. Both books include material suited to conversation, which makes them a natural fit for readers who like discussing a novel after they finish it.
Then there are the royals.
In the Royal Secrets books, princes and princesses collide with ordinary people who aren't especially impressed by titles. A ballet teacher, a nanny, an education-minded princess, and a graduate student out of her time all have to decide whether love is worth the complications that come with palace life.
Armstrong returns often to second chances. Her characters may be former sweethearts, friends who waited too long, people rebuilding after loss, or strangers forced to work together when life goes sideways. The Sapphire Cove stories, set in coastal Oregon, bring that approach to a small-town setting with an inn renovation, a mechanic, Navy SEAL friends, and a community where people know one another's history.
Her romances are written with a closed-door approach, but that doesn't mean the stakes are always small. A fake relationship can become too real. A job can require leaving town. A family secret can make a fresh start feel impossible. Armstrong tends to put her characters in situations where they have to speak honestly, even when it would be much easier not to.
Away from the page, she lives in the Rocky Mountains with her husband and their twin boys. She has also shared a fondness for chick flicks, ice cream, chocolate, Diet Dr. Pepper, and fictional angst.
That combination makes sense for her work. The books offer playful setups and swoony moments, but they also give their characters room to be nervous, stubborn, hopeful, and human.
