If you want a bigger dragon fantasy arc: Priestess Awakened → Priestess Bound → Priestess Unleashed
If you want cozy paranormal adventure: Demons in the Bedroom → Wolves at the Door → Phantom of the Library
If you want her newer Hidden Lands vibe: The Potion Dealers → Wanted: Brooding Man, Tragic Past
Author bio
Lidiya Foxglove writes fantasy romance that likes to wander into goblin caves, dragon courts, cursed castles, haunted mansions, and the occasional faery finishing school. Her own short bio gives you the shape of it right away: she grew up on fairy tales, folklore, and fantasy, reads a lot of manga, loves cats and tea, and likes her romance stories with real heat.
That checks out.
She has said that a fantasy world moved into her head when she was eleven and never left. It was full of doll people, dragons, old religions, magical crystals, potion makers, invented languages, and all the odd little things she loved. That long-running private world still feels like the engine behind a lot of her books.
Before these novels took over, she had already spent about fifteen years writing professionally, but she has also described the Foxglove books as the stories she most wanted to tell, the ones that felt less marketable and more fully her own. You can feel that in the work. Even when the setup is playful or openly steamy, the books usually have a big dose of worldbuilding, a fondness for strange magical rules, and heroines who have to figure out where they fit inside systems that were not built for them.
A good place to see that is Beauty and the Goblin King, her 2017 opener for the Fairy Tale Heat line. From there she built a long run of adult fairy-tale retellings that revisit Beauty and the Beast, the Twelve Dancing Princesses, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Bluebeard, Rumpelstiltskin, Thumbelina, and more. Readers who come for those books usually stay for the mix of sweetness, danger, magic, and a shared world that quietly links the standalones together.
But fairy tales are only one lane for her. The Fairer Hex leans into magical school chaos, with a witch dropped into an all-male warlock college full of outdated rules and supernatural drama. Priestess Awakened opens a bigger quest story with dragon lore, a fated heroine, and a world under siege. Demons in the Bedroom takes a different turn and asks a very practical question, what if the haunted house also needed new tile and better wiring? The Sorcerer's Concubine slows things down into a more layered romantic fantasy about personhood, power, and a woman who has been treated like an object learning that she is anything but.
That range matters.
Across the catalog, some patterns keep showing up. Foxglove likes women who are underestimated, magical creatures who turn out to be gentler than the people in charge, and romances where safety has to be built, not assumed. She also likes domestic details in the middle of fantasy. Work matters in these books. People cook, renovate, study, brew, sew, travel, bargain, and clean up magical messes. The worlds may be full of dragons and goblins, but they are lived-in.
Her newer books show that stretch too. The Broken Queen goes back to dragon court politics and a doll-born heroine finding her power. Rescued by the Raven King returns to the fairy-tale mode with a Thumbelina retelling. The Potion Dealers and Wanted: Brooding Man, Tragic Past move toward a cozier Hidden Lands corner, with more found-family energy, more slice-of-life texture, and a little less focus on steam for its own sake.
She has also described her real life in ways that sound like they wandered out of one of her own author notes. She writes quirky fantasy, has a whole wall of manga, works at a small-town used bookstore in the mountains, has three weird cats, and buys organic hot cocoa mix in bulk. It is hard to imagine a more on-brand set of details.
If you like fairy tales for grown-ups, dragon-heavy romantasy, magical academia, paranormal renovation chaos, or heroines who talk back to destiny, Lidiya Foxglove has probably written a version of that already.
