Kwana Jackson Books in Order

Kwana Jackson is a native New Yorker whose early dreams had room for two things: fashion design and writing. She spent many of her growing-up years riding the A train, using those commutes to picture the kind of life she wanted to build.

Fashion came first. After studying fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Jackson spent about ten years designing women's sportswear for fashion houses. It was practical, creative work, and it gave her a close view of style, deadlines, and the challenge of making an idea work in the real world.

Then motherhood changed the balancing act.

After having twins, Jackson decided to take a chance on the writing dream she had carried with her for years. She moved toward romance fiction, later writing under both Kwana Jackson and K.M. Jackson. The shift gave her room to bring together the things that matter most in her stories: love, family, friendship, humor, and the daily work of building a life.

In 2020, she introduced the Strong brothers in Real Men Knit. Set in Harlem, the novel follows Jesse Strong as he tries to keep his late adoptive mother's knitting shop open, with help from Kerry Fuller, the employee who understands the business far better than he does. It is a romance, but the shop, the brothers, and the surrounding neighborhood matter just as much as the central couple.

Harlem matters here.

Knot Again returns to the same community through firefighter Lucas Strong and his high school crush, Sydney Harris. Sydney has returned to Harlem with her daughter after leaving her marriage, while Lucas is looking for a little quiet away from unexpected local attention. Their story leans into old feelings, fresh starts, and the courage it takes to trust someone with the life you are trying to rebuild.

Jackson also writes as K.M. Jackson, including How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days. Across her books, the settings and setups may change, but her interests stay close: people trying to be honest about what they want, families that are built as much as born, and communities that notice when someone needs help. Jackson lives in New York with her husband and their now young-adult twins. She continues to write contemporary romance rooted in city life, family ties, and hopeful new beginnings.
