Series background & context

Kinky Spurs brings Stacey Kennedy's heat to small-town Colorado. The series is built around River Rock and its hottest western bar, Kinky Spurs, but the books are about more than a flirty setting. They are full-on cowboy romances with family pressure, financial strain, messy history, and characters trying to choose between the life they know and the one they might actually want.

The town gives the books a lived-in feel. People know each other. Families overlap. Old grief and old loyalty still matter. That makes the romances feel rooted, even when the chemistry is immediate and intense. Kennedy uses the western backdrop well, with ranches, animals, long workdays, and people who are more comfortable doing than talking.

And then she makes them talk anyway.

Or at least makes them feel enough that silence stops working.

The heroes in this series are classic Kennedy cowboys, protective, capable, sexy, and usually carrying more responsibility than they want to admit. The women are often rebuilding too, whether that means starting over after heartbreak, protecting something they inherited, or proving they can stand on their own. If you want western romance with real steam, emotional pull, and a setting that feels open, dusty, and a little dangerous to your heart, Kinky Spurs fits the bill.
