Hide Away With You

by Judy Corry

2024

After her fiancé Evan vanishes six months after proposing, Addie spends a year searching with no answers. A hidden journal finally leads her back to him—only now he’s a powerful, dangerous stranger who insists pretending they never met is the only way to keep her safe.

Series background & context

Kings of Eden Falls is Judy Corry’s more mature spin-off from her Eden Falls universe, following powerful, deeply driven men whose lives are upended by the kind of love they never planned on. The stories blend billionaire, bodyguard and forbidden-romance tropes with an undercurrent of danger.

The series is set in and around Eden Falls, a world of old money, exclusive universities, private security details and the shadows that come with them. Here, success often comes with enemies, and characters are constantly weighing how much of themselves they can risk—for their careers, their reputations and the people they care about.

In Hide Away With You, Addie survives the unthinkable when her family is killed, only to be taken under the wing of her brother’s best friend, Evan. To outsiders he poses as her stepbrother and protector; behind closed doors their connection slowly turns into something more. Then, six months after he proposes, he disappears without a word. A year later, a hidden journal leads Addie back to a man who looks like the one she loved but acts like a stranger—cold, dangerous and absolutely determined to push her away for her own safety.

Later books follow other 'kings' of this world—a billionaire boss entangled with his assistant, or a professor whose careful life is derailed by a forbidden romance—each wrestling with the cost of opening up when secrecy has always been their armor. The stories share an overlapping cast, recurring locations and glimpses of the fallout from choices made in earlier books, giving the series a sweeping, interconnected feel.

Compared to Judy Corry’s YA work, the tone here skews a little darker and more suspenseful. There are still closed-door romances and a strong focus on emotional connection, but you’ll also find criminal threats, difficult family histories, and morally gray decisions made in the name of protection. The central question running through the series is whether love can be strong enough to cut through that kind of fear.

Each Kings of Eden Falls novel stands alone with its own couple and satisfying conclusion, so you can start wherever a particular premise grabs you. Reading in order, though, lets you watch the wider Eden Falls power players rise and fall, and appreciate how one couple’s hard-won happiness quietly reshapes the lives of the others.
