Later editions present this stage of the story as Heavenly Mortal, again placing Grant against a carefully planned false return of Jesus.

Halo of Brimstone continues the conflict after Grant disrupts an attack aimed at a woman and child. He is pulled back into danger as an Israeli special forces soldier, Rogan Dorn, pursues the rebel angel he holds responsible for the deaths of his teammates. Their paths meet in a conflict where old alliances become uncertain and every side has its own plan.

These books are for readers who like spiritual-warfare fiction with conspiracy, action, and high-concept threats. The tone is intense rather than cozy, and the plot asks readers to accept a world where angels and demons can work through public events without being recognized.
