Author bio
Judy Corry writes the kind of love stories she always wanted to read as a teen and young adult. She’s a USA Today and Amazon Top 12 bestselling author of contemporary, young adult and new adult romance, known for closed-door stories packed with swoony tension, big emotion and hard-won happily-ever-afters.
Long before she ever thought about publication, she was the reader who devoured every romance she could find. She studied family relationships at Southern Utah University, earning a degree in Family Life and Human Development, and later folded that background into the way she writes parents, siblings and found families on the page.
Writing didn’t click for her until her mid-twenties, when she was home with three young kids and listening to another author describe how an ordinary reader could become a working novelist.
Inspired, she opened a notebook and started trying to reverse-engineer the books she loved. She paid attention to dialogue tags and chapter endings, noticed how favorite authors used tropes, and wrote draft after draft while learning on the fly. Early manuscripts drew their fair share of rejections, but they also taught her that she could finish a book, revise it, and make it stronger.
Her first published novel, Protect My Heart, began as a simple idea about a girl on a boy-cleanse and the undercover bodyguard assigned to protect her. That book found a home in a now-retired publishing program and gave her the confidence to lean fully into writing sweet romance. Before long she was building out the small-town world of Ridgewater, New York, in her Ridgewater High books like Meet Me There, Don’t Forget Me, It Was Always You and My Second Chance—stories that mix best-friends-to-lovers and brother’s-best-friend tropes with deeper threads about grief, missing parents and teen pregnancy.
As her readership grew, she expanded the Ridgewater universe sideways into new settings. In the Eden Falls Academy series, she trades small-town hallways for an elite Connecticut boarding school full of secrets, family expectations and forbidden crushes in books such as The Charade, The Facade, The Ruse, The Confidant and The Confession. She’s also written in shared worlds like Sweet Water High, where Kissing the Boy Next Door lets her play with feuding families, music rehearsals and that dangerous moment when a childhood friend stops feeling like just a friend.
On the adult side, her A Second Chance for the Rich and Famous books—beginning with Assisting My Brother’s Best Friend and continuing through celebrity romances like Hollywood and Ivy, Her Football Star Ex, Stolen Kisses from a Rock Star and Friendzone to End Zone—peek behind the curtain of reality shows, movie sets and stadiums. More recently, her Kings of Eden Falls series, which opens with Hide Away With You, blends bodyguard and billionaire tropes with higher stakes, morally gray heroes and a little more danger, while still keeping the romance emotionally driven and closed-door.
Along the way, Judy has also spent time on the other side of the page, talking craft and publishing. For several years she co-hosted a writing podcast and video channel with three other sweet-romance authors, sharing what they’d learned about tropes, marketing and building a full-time career. Together they turned those conversations into a short craft book, The Writing Gals Discuss, so newer writers could get the same pep talks she once wished for.
Readers often say they come to her books for the butterflies and banter and stay for the quiet moments where characters finally feel seen.
Judy lives in Southern Utah with the boy who once took her to prom, their four kids and two dogs. When she’s not drafting, you’ll probably find her watching chick flicks, singing or playing the piano, sipping a chai latte, or sneaking a piece of dark chocolate while she daydreams about the next couple who refuses to leave her alone.
