The Florida Keys are a great fit for Stone's style. The setting naturally brings in boats, outsiders, money, tight local networks, and the sense that beauty and danger often share the same stretch of water. Joe's story feels a little more windswept and open-ended than some of Stone's other series, which suits the adventure label.

If you like inherited secrets, Gulf and island atmosphere, and heroes who have to learn fast while the stakes keep rising around them, this series is a promising late entry in Stone's coastal world.
