Series background & context

Jamison Valley brings Devney Perry's contemporary romances into the small-town world of Prescott, Montana. Its connected stories follow people seeking a new beginning, returning to old attachments, or trying to make a home after a difficult period. The series uses a changing central couple rather than one romance stretched across every book. Homes, local work, and familiar community relationships give the novels continuity, while the protagonists arrive with different reasons to hope that life in the valley can become something other than a repetition of the past.

The opening book, The Coppersmith Farmhouse, begins with Gigi and her daughter moving after an unexpected gift of property. The farmhouse offers an escape from the loneliness of city life and a place to start again. For local sheriff Jess, however, it represents a sanctuary he believes should have belonged to him. His resentment leads him to make assumptions about its new owner. Gigi's determination and refusal to accept his attitude challenge the impression he formed before getting to know her, creating a romance grounded in a disputed idea of home.

A fresh start can bring someone directly into another person's unfinished story.

The Clover Chapel gives that idea a different shape. Emmeline leaves the pressures of life as a New York socialite to become a kindergarten teacher in Prescott. She doesn't expect the move to reunite her with Nick, the man she married and then lost nine years earlier. Nick sees her return as an opportunity he doesn't intend to waste, while the reasons for their earlier separation remain relevant to the present. The town that promises Emmeline independence also places her near a relationship she believed belonged to an earlier life.

The series continues to vary the relationship between departure and return. The Lucky Heart brings Felicity home for the funeral of a former boyfriend, with damaged relationships and amends waiting alongside the possibility of a different future. Across these premises, moving to Montana doesn't automatically remove the consequences of what happened elsewhere. The place provides a setting in which those consequences must be faced among people who have their own memories, loyalties, and expectations. Romance develops through that process rather than existing apart from the characters' attempts to establish stability.

Begin with The Coppersmith Farmhouse and continue in publication order to follow the introduction of Prescott and its connected cast. Expect individual love stories with family concerns, past hurts, and the practical details of making a life in a community. The farmhouse, classroom, and ranch settings give different couples distinct circumstances within the valley. Jamison Valley's unifying interest is the possibility of belonging: finding somewhere to live may be the beginning, but finding a home also involves reconsidering the people already connected to that place.
