Ida May Chronicles Books in Order

The Ida May Chronicles are Deanna Chase at her silliest and most delightfully unfiltered. If some of her other series offer cozy magic or romantic suspense, these books lean hard into comic paranormal mayhem. They are short, fast, and proudly ridiculous in the way only a magic portal to rural West Virginia can be.

At the center is Ida May, a ghost with a sharp mouth and a talent for getting dragged into trouble. One minute she is minding her own business, the next she is being summoned from Louisiana into a town with a name that tells you exactly how seriously these books take themselves. Not very. That is part of the charm.

Shifters, curses, old lovers, hot tempers, and magical accidents keep the plot moving. Ida May is usually balancing at least three problems at once, and one of them is almost always romantic. The stories are compact, but Chase still gives them emotional momentum. Beneath all the jokes, Ida May is trying to hold onto some dignity, some agency, and maybe a little happiness too.

Because the books are novellas, the pace is quick. The jokes come fast, the supernatural trouble hits early, and the romances burn hot. This is a good series for readers who like paranormal romance but do not need everything to be solemn, polished, or dramatically world-ending. Sometimes a weird curse and a terrible situation are plenty.

Start with Witched to Death and expect ghostly chaos, shifter trouble, and a heroine who is never going to handle any of it quietly. These books are outrageous on purpose, and they are better for it.
