Levi is also caring for his younger sister, Abigail, which adds responsibility to every choice he makes.

The Amish Secret Wish centers on Hallie Brunstetter and Hezekiah "Kiah" Esh. Hallie secretly writes a popular Amish newspaper column, while Kiah has become attached to the unknown writer through their correspondence. Their story uses letters, hidden identities, and the fear of being known too well to build its romance.

The series is warm but not entirely light. Tornado recovery, broken engagements, grief, family needs, old misunderstandings, and self-doubt give the characters real problems to work through.
