Series background & context

The Heart Valley Romance books are contemporary small-town romances set in western Wyoming. The stories center on the McDaniel family, their resort ranch, and the people whose old feelings and unfinished business keep bringing them back to Heart Valley.

The town sits near the Teton Mountains, and its landscape matters. Ranch work, tourism, family property, local politics, and the pressure to protect a long-held legacy all shape the problems the characters face. The setting has open country and close community ties, which means it can be beautiful, useful, and hard to escape.

Evan begins the series with Amanda Wynd returning to Heart Valley after four years away. She does not want to see rancher Evan McDaniel again, because he once broke her heart. But when signs of foul play threaten the McDaniel Resort Ranch, Evan needs Amanda's help, and neither of them can avoid the past for long.

The following books keep the focus on connected characters rather than repeating the exact same romance. In Cole, Jamie West returns home to help her ill mother and starts an investigative business. A missing-girl case forces her to revisit her connection to Cole McDaniel, the childhood love she believed was gone forever. Lance follows Danica Marshall and Lance McDaniel, former sweethearts confronting a painful separation and the child who changes what Lance thought he knew.

These stories are romantic, but each one includes a practical problem beyond the central couple. A family business may be at risk. A missing person may need help. An old secret may need to be faced. That extra tension gives the books a gentle mystery or suspense thread without moving them away from their main purpose, watching people rebuild trust.

Heart Valley is small, but nobody's feelings are.

The tone is warm and relationship-focused. Readers can expect second chances, family history, ranch-country details, and characters trying to decide whether a place that once hurt them could also become home. Begin with Evan to meet the McDaniels and the town, then continue with Cole and Lance for the connected romances.
