Series background & context

This is McCoy in a softer, sweeter mode. The Christmas Chronicles are linked holiday romances with paranormal or fantasy elements, but the mood is warmer than the danger level suggests. The books lean into longing, healing, seasonal magic, and the idea that Christmas can open a door to a different kind of future.

The first story, A Christmas Wish, sets the tone well. Candy is dealing with infertility and loneliness, but the book frames those feelings through holiday wonder, volunteering, and a romantic connection that grows in a magical winter setting. The next books keep that emotional softness while changing the fantasy flavor.

Fairy Love shifts the focus to Star, a fairy healing after loss in a winter forest full of Christmas energy, while Goddess goes even more fantastical and follows a divine matchmaking premise with a missing counterpart and a young woman whose ordinary birthday suddenly becomes anything but ordinary. So even though the books are connected by season and spirit, each one gives readers a slightly different supernatural lens.

These are festive comfort reads with magic swapped in for snow globes.

The settings do a lot of the charm work. Lapland, snowy forests, stars, wishes, fairy wisdom, and divine signs all help keep the books feeling bright and inviting. McCoy still gives her characters real emotional obstacles, but she is not aiming for relentless darkness here. These stories are more about opening up after pain, accepting love, and letting a bit of wonder back in.

If you want holiday romance with a paranormal twist, this series is easy to settle into. The books are connected, but each one feels approachable on its own, and the overall promise is pretty simple: a little magic, a lot of heart, and a festive route to a happy ending.
