4

Into the Fae

by Quinn Loftis

2014

With a fragile peace finally settling over the Romanian wolves, high fae ambassador Perizada is sent to locate newly awakened gypsy healers scattered across the human world. Her quest is complicated by a burning desire for revenge against her sister and by the return of Lucian Lupei, a white wolf who may be her destined mate.

Series background & context

The Gypsy Healers series is a spin off from Grey Wolves that moves some familiar faces into the spotlight and introduces a new kind of heroine. Gypsy healers are humans with rare gifts, tied to the wolves but carrying their own traditions and responsibilities. Their magic is rooted in compassion and light, which makes them both powerful and very tempting to the forces of darkness.

The story opens with Into the Fae, where Perizada, the sharp tongued high fae who has long advised the Romanian pack, finally gets a mission of her own. The Great Luna sends her to locate newly awakened gypsy healers scattered across the human world. Peri’s hunt is complicated by her hunger for vengeance against her sister Lorelle and by the return of Lucian Lupei, a legendary white wolf who appears to be her destined mate.

From there the series follows five healers and the wolves who become their partners. Dalton Black, burdened by guilt and anger, never expects to find a true mate until he rescues Jewel from a dark altar in Wolf of Stone and Jewel of Darkness. Other healers bring their own histories, insecurities, and quirks, but they all share an instinct to protect others even when it costs them dearly.

Their main enemy is Volcan, a high fae who once sat on the ruling council and then broke away to create witches by corrupting healer blood. Long ago the council tried to purge those witches and their maker, but Volcan survived. In Wolves of Wrath and Wolf of Sight he resurfaces with a plan to rebuild his army using gypsy healers as raw material, forcing the wolves and fae to race against time to stop him.

Because this series overlaps heavily with the later Grey Wolves books, timelines and character arcs weave together. Major battles, rescues, and revelations often affect both casts at once. Reading in the suggested combined order lets you watch the same crisis unfold from different angles, but each Gypsy Healers book still focuses closely on one couple and their emotional journey.

Expect a tone that blends high stakes fantasy with Quinn’s usual humor. Peri’s sarcasm, the wolves’ stubborn protectiveness, and the healers’ mix of bravery and exasperation keep the pages moving even when the subject matter gets dark. If you have ever wanted more time with the fae and healers who kept popping up in Grey Wolves, this series is where their stories really breathe.
