Crossing Lines picks up with Gabe no longer working for the LAPD and determined to find the killers who destroyed his life. A mutilated body on a Florida beach leads him into a race to save a kidnapped woman, as an enemy from his past returns. The setting shifts away from Los Angeles, but the core conflict remains the same: Gabe wants justice, and he has to decide how much of himself he is willing to spend to get it.

In Taking Liberty, Gabe begins from an even worse position, imprisoned for the attempted murder of a federal agent. A new murder gives him a path back into the investigation, but it also places him under scrutiny from the FBI and puts the people he cares about at risk. The trilogy’s ongoing arc is about a detective trying to live with the consequences of his choices while being pulled toward another deadly confrontation.

The series moves through Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Florida, and the wider world of federal investigations, but it stays close to Gabe’s point of view.
