Author bio

Ella Quinn writes smart, spicy Regency romances filled with quick dialogue, big families, and couples who earn their happy endings. A USA Today bestselling author, she is best known for The Marriage Game, The Worthingtons, the Lords of London, and a growing web of connected spin off series.

Before she ever put a duke on the page, Quinn's life looked very different. She studied seriously, became a lawyer, taught as an adjunct professor, and broke new ground as the first woman assigned to a Green Beret unit, work that demanded discipline, research, and resilience.

Historical romance was her escape from those demanding jobs. She devoured Regencies for the wit, the tightly drawn communities, and the sense that love could survive strict rules. Eventually reading was not enough, and she began sketching stories of her own, learning how to balance period detail with a modern reader's expectations.

Those experiments turned into The Marriage Game, a sequence of novels about determined bachelors who are quite certain they will never marry until they collide with women like Lady Phoebe Stanhope in The Seduction of Lady Phoebe or Anna Marsh in The Secret Life of Miss Anna Marsh. The series ranges from London to Venice and the West Indies, but always circles back to the emotional push and pull between guarded heroes and grounded, capable heroines.

With Three Weeks to Wed and the Worthington books, Quinn widened her canvas. Instead of a single couple, readers meet an entire blended family of siblings, guardians, cousins, and dogs, all crammed into one lively household. Novels such as It Started with a Kiss, The Marquis and I, and Believe in Me follow different members of that circle as they grow up, make mistakes, and find partners who fit into the sprawling clan.

More recent series, including The Most Eligible Lord in London and its companion Lords of London novels, the Worthington Brides books beginning with The Marriage List, and the Here Come the Grooms stories, pick up threads from earlier work. Former rakes return to make amends, younger sisters step into the spotlight, and side characters get their own journeys from wary attraction to lasting commitment.

Across all of these books, certain themes repeat. Quinn likes heroines who have a passion beyond the marriage mart, whether that is studying languages, rescuing children, improving working conditions, or simply protecting a boisterous family. Her heroes often start out blinkered by privilege or past hurts, then slowly learn how to listen, apologize, and build something equal with the women they love.

Her years of legal training and global travel show up in the details. Quinn has lived in places as varied as the South Pacific, Central America, North Africa, England, and continental Europe, and she spends time digging into Regency politics, fashion, and daily life so her fictional ballrooms and battlefields feel lived in rather than decorative.

Today she and her husband of more than thirty years divide their time between life aboard a sailboat and a home base in Germany, keeping in close touch with their son and two granddaughters, plus a very patient dog. When she is not drafting another house party or rescue mission, she enjoys talking with readers online and sharing glimpses of the real adventures that feed her fictional ones.
