Series background & context

The Frenzy series lives in a rough, hungry post-apocalyptic world where survival depends on bargains nobody really likes. After a viral collapse, one of the last human strongholds is Blackwater, a colony boxed in by danger on all sides. The people there rely on a treaty with the night-walkers, vampires who protect human hunters from the infected outside the walls in exchange for blood.

That is the kind of deal that keeps a series tense from the start.

Porschia Grant sits at the center of the story. She is young, angry, underfed, and trapped in a life where even her own home is not safe. When she is forced into the colony's rotation system, she has to hunt beyond Blackwater with a night-walker at her side and hope the infected get to her last. That setup gives the series its signature mix of zombie danger, vampire politics, and plain old human cruelty.

What keeps the books going is the way the threat keeps shifting. Sometimes the danger is outside the walls. Sometimes it is in the treaty. Sometimes it is buried in Blackwater's secrets. As the series moves through Frantic, Frequency, Friction, Fraud, and Forever Frenzy, the focus spreads beyond simple survival and into questions about origin, loyalty, infection, and what kind of future could possibly be built from this kind of wreckage. Porschia grows with those changes. She starts as someone trying to get through the next day and becomes someone forced to think bigger.

It is part zombie series, part vampire series, and part siege story.

Bond keeps the tone lean and urgent. The books are not huge, but they move fast and tend to end by yanking the floor out from under the characters. If you like apocalyptic fiction with a strong heroine, messy alliances, and a supernatural twist that feels dangerous instead of glossy, Frenzy is an easy binge. Start with Frenzy and read straight through. This world does not reward skipping ahead.
