It becomes a broader story about different witches, linked lives, and the strange ways destiny keeps collecting its debts.

The tone lands in that sweet spot between YA fantasy and fairy-tale mood. There is magic, romance, and plenty of emotional intensity, but also a strong sense of mystery running underneath. Bond likes characters who feel cornered by prophecy and still try to push back, and that tension powers the whole trilogy.
