Forgotten Vengeance Books in Order

Forgotten Vengeance is where several major threads of the Forgotten universe crash together. By this point the separate series have done the patient work of building characters, planets, and overlapping crises. These books cash that in. The enemy is no longer a local monster, a hidden conspiracy, or a single occupied world. It is a sweeping existential threat coming for everyone.

So the cast has to widen.

That is part of the appeal. Heroes from earlier books, including Hayden Duke, Caleb Card, Nathan Stacker, and others from Earth and Proxima, are pushed onto the same board. Their worlds are different, their experiences do not always line up, and they are all carrying damage from earlier fights. But the invasion facing them is too large for any one branch of the story to handle alone. The war has become a true ensemble problem.

The books play out on multiple fronts. Earth is under direct pressure. Proxima is no safer. Enemies are coming from more than one direction, and the sense of being surrounded never really lets up. Forbes writes the series like a crossover war story, so you get shifting battle lines, desperate alliances, and the pleasure of watching long-running characters collide and combine their strengths.

Even with the broader cast, the storytelling still works on immediate tension. People are trapped, outnumbered, and constantly having to choose which disaster to confront first. The scale is large, but the mood is not abstract. It stays urgent, with plenty of battlefield momentum and just enough mystery left in the threat to keep the pressure high.

If you have been reading through the Forgotten books, Forgotten Vengeance feels like a payoff. If you are brand new, it is probably not the ideal first stop, because these novels are built to reward earlier investment. But if what you want is the big collision, the branch where scattered survivors finally have to act like a united front against extinction, this is exactly that series.
