The short prequel Englishman in Blackpool looks back at Mr Hopper, butler to the Earl of Cosgrave. While helping at a dance studio in Blackpool, he meets Beverley, a woman who is ready to escape a difficult situation. It is a brief, gentle story, and it adds background for readers who enjoy the Cosgrave household and its loyal staff.

In Englishwoman in Scotland, Lady Titania, known as Tansy, is expected to marry a viscount she barely knows. Rather than accept the arrangement, she takes a job as a cook in Scotland, only to find herself working for the very man she is supposed to marry. The rugged setting of Oban and the Slate Islands gives their guarded romance a fresh start and a little room to breathe.

Englishwoman in Manhattan shifts to New York, where recently widowed concert pianist Lady Cara Bachmeire is trying to rebuild her life. A shared key to Gramercy Park brings her into the orbit of lawyer Matti Bianchi, whose work raises difficult questions about trust and loyalty. Music, grief, and the possibility of a second chance sit at the heart of this instalment.

The series closes its current run with a Christmas story. In Englishwoman at Christmas: Holly and Ivy, Holly Branch and Lord Oliver Ivy are both carrying damage from past relationships and losses. When circumstances strand them in Cornwall during a snowstorm, they have little choice but to spend time together.

These books can be read as standalones, though recurring faces reward anyone who reads in order. Expect romance with humour, travel, family complications, and characters who learn that a title, a job, or a polished public image is not the same thing as happiness.
