Series background & context

Earth Reclaimed is dystopian fantasy on a larger canvas, with old gods, ruined landscapes, and a heroine who has already lost a great deal before the story really begins. The series centers on Aislinn, who has shut herself down emotionally in order to survive, only to find that survival is not going to let her stay hidden.

The world is already broken. Dark powers are loose, familiar life is gone, and the old mythic order has come roaring back in the worst possible way. Aislinn is pulled into that fight not as a chosen one who has been waiting for her moment, but as someone who would rather keep moving than feel too much.

The wolf bond is important. So is Fionn, the Celtic god whose path crosses hers at exactly the point when keeping everyone at arm's length stops being practical. Their connection gives the series its emotional pull, but the larger story stays focused on reclaiming a world that may already be too damaged to save cleanly.

These books sit comfortably in the overlap between urban fantasy and epic aftermath. The cast fights old powers with whatever they can gather, and every step forward seems to reveal another layer of ruin underneath.

If you want a trilogy with dark gods, mythic stakes, a strong central woman, and a romance that has to survive the end of the familiar world, Earth Reclaimed is a good starting place. It is one of Gimpel's bigger and more openly mythic series, but it still keeps its heart close to character.
