Dragons of Starlight Books in Order

The Dragons of Starlight series starts with a classic Bryan Davis move, take an ordinary young person and push him through a portal into a hidden conflict that is already much older than he understands. Jason Masters thinks the stories about another realm are just stories, right up until his brother disappears and he has to go looking.

On the other side is Starlight, a dragon-ruled world where humans have been enslaved for generations. That is where Jason meets Koren, a girl born into bondage who has her own part to play in a prophecy surrounding a black egg and the possible end of the world. From there the series becomes a rescue story, a war story, and a freedom story all at once.

Jason and Koren carry the emotional center, but the cast grows well. Elyssa, Wallace, and other allies widen the story into politics, prophecy, and divided loyalties among both humans and dragons. Later books bring in the Northlands, disease, the dragon king Taushin, and the slow realization that Starlight's history has been shaped by secrets on both sides of the conflict.

Freedom is the beating heart of this series.

If you like portal fantasy with strong teen leads, clear stakes, and a world where prophecy never replaces hard choices, Dragons of Starlight works well. It has the sweep of epic fantasy, but Davis keeps it anchored in young characters who are trying to trust each other while carrying a very old burden.
