Summer at Lochguard

by Jessie Donovan

2021

Finn and Arabella host dragon leaders, mates, and children for a summer gathering at Lochguard. The reunion brings family updates, mischief, and fresh surprises, but it works best after reading the earlier dragon books.

Winter at Stonefire

by Jessie Donovan

2023

Jane Hartley brings a clan fostering idea to a winter gathering at Stonefire, hoping to help orphaned dragon-shifter children. The meeting blends Solstice celebrations, old friends, family updates, and a few surprises.

Series background & context

Dragon Clan Gatherings is a crossover corner of Jessie Donovan's dragon-shifter world. These books are not the best first stop for a new reader. They work more like reunion specials, where couples, children, clan leaders, and side characters from earlier books come together for meetings, celebrations, and the kind of trouble that follows a big cast.

Summer at Lochguard brings leaders and families from Stonefire, Lochguard, Skyhunter, Snowridge, Northcastle, and Glenlough to Scotland. On paper, it is a gathering for business and clan cooperation. In practice, it is also a chance to catch up with old favorites, see how their families have grown, and watch children and adults create their own problems.

The children are often the spark.

Winter at Stonefire shifts the gathering to Stonefire and centers part of its plot on Jane Hartley's idea for clan fostering, especially for orphaned dragon-shifter children. That gives the book a warmer, community-focused purpose while still leaving room for Winter Solstice traditions, medical updates, and personal surprises.

The series matters because Donovan's dragon world is too connected to stay in neat boxes forever. Dragon hunters, orphan care, public relations, clan leadership, and mating bonds all cross clan lines. These gathering books show what happens after the main romances, when the couples still have families to raise, jobs to do, and a future to protect.

Expect many familiar names and very little hand-holding. The joy comes from recognition: seeing Bram, Evie, Finn, Arabella, Jane, Kai, and others in a shared space. For that reason, these books are best read after several Stonefire, Lochguard, and Universe titles. They are cozy in the dragon-world sense, which still means someone may be plotting, arguing, matchmaking, or needing rescue before the gathering ends.
